Our LaboratoryWe bring relevant cardiovascular testing innovations from the research laboratory into the clinics.Berkeley HeartLab performs all testing in our 40,000 square foot CLIA-certified laboratory in Alameda, California. Our highly discriminating technology enables comprehensive risk characterization with relevant cardiovascular disease tests that help clinicians develop personalized treatment recommendations. We have an exclusive license for the SGGE™ lipoprotein subfractionation gel technology (the process by which lipoproteins are divided into subclasses to assess cardiovascular disease risk) that was developed by the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory at the University of California, Berkeley. As well, our high-throughput facility houses advanced technology for analyzing a comprehensive set of cardiovascular risk markers, genetic tests and more. Our laboratory processes approximately 1,000 samples per day and performs over 200,000 tests per month. At Berkeley HeartLab, we focus on providing highly accurate measurements for each test panel. Our robust quality control ensures that our test results are reproducible and precise. The laboratory meets the regulatory requirements of the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act (CLIA), the College of American Pathologists Survey Program, and the highest standard in quality assurance — the Westgard Quality Control Program. We also hold the following certifications and licenses:
